This was one of my favorite books as a teen/ 20-something. I still strongly recommend this series including this book which has been a favorite for years. But please note there is a satisfying twist for the reader. This narration really and truly detracts from the beautiful romance and storyline within which includes a captivating and daring rescue from a depraved sexual deviant so beware - trigger warning.
I don't believe he did his work in reading Miss Lindsay's previous books as oddly enough he managed to give Percy a rather charming and charismatic voice given what we know about his character.
It's most unfortunate that the narrator assumed that pretentiousness and snobbery should be conveyed in his dialect when speaking for not only the main hero but also former main Heroes. Note for the new reader: I suggest you read the actual book as I hate to say that the narrator for this particular title is terrible. It was a pleasure reading this book again a decade later. Another slam dunk for Miss Lindsey in the Mallory Anderson series.
